OPW Hydro Data

The Hydormetric section of the Office of Public Works had been collecting Hydrometric Data from Irish rivers for over sixty years. This data was contained in a variety of locations and Databases. Our mandate was to centralise all of this data in a single database and make it available on a web site in Tabular and Graphic form. We collated all of the data in a single SQL Server Database and provided a web front end that allows relevant users to easily find and access the data they need..

The site now frees up the Hydrometric units staff to other duties, from constantly responding to requests for information which were occupying up to 3 man years per annum.
